Clarifications

IRS Notice Questions, Answered

I got a CP2000. Does it mean I am being audited?
No. A CP2000 is an automated underreporting notice, not a formal audit. It still needs a timely, correct response, because ignoring it can turn into an assessment. We handle that for you.
Should I just pay what the notice says?
Not always. IRS notices are sometimes wrong or overstate what you owe. We review the notice against your records first, and only agree to what is actually correct.
Can you talk to the IRS for me?
Yes. With a signed power of attorney (Form 2848), we communicate with the IRS directly so you do not have to deal with the calls and letters.
What is the deadline to respond?
It varies by notice, but many give about 30 days. Responding on time matters, so send us the letter as soon as you get it.
What if I am being audited?
We represent you through the audit, handle the correspondence, assemble the documentation, and deal with the examiner on your behalf.
How much does it cost?
You get one flat fee, quoted after a free consultation, based on the type and complexity of the notice, before any work begins.
